Configuration and Status Window -
Module Status
Displays the current status of the DSM board. The status is not automatically refreshed. In order to see the most current status of
the board you must click on Update Status. For a detailed look at the DSM state machine, please see the
Internal States page.
Armed - displays if board is in the "Armed" state.
Triggered - displays if board is in the "Triggered" state.
In Loop - displays if board is in the "In Loop" state.
Slave Wait - displays if board is in the the "Slave Wait" state which is equivalent to the "Armed" state of the Master
mode. In the "Armed" state of the Master mode the board waits for the TRIG signal to begin waveform
output while in the "Slave Wait" state of the Slave mode, the board waits for the SYNCI signal to begin waveform output.
Auto Armed - displays if board has Auto Armed enabled. When Auto Armed is enabled, the board automatically enters
the "Armed" state after the "Loop Done" state.
Slave - displays if board is in Slave mode. When this option is not checked the board is either in Master mode or
Standalone mode.
Data Length Enable - displays if Data Length is enabled.
Infinite Loop - displays if board is in Infinite Loop mode (Free Run mode).
Configuration
Master
Puts DSM into Master mode in which the DSM only produces output when it senses the trigger signal.
Slave*
Puts DSM into Slave mode. Note that this mode is an option and and not a part of the standard DSM.
Endless Loop
Puts DSM into Free Run mode which results in continuous looping of waveform until user intervenes with the Stop command.
Loop Count
In the Master and optional Slave mode, sets how many loops of waveform will be output when a trigger is sensed. For example if Loop Count was set at "2", then the DSM will output the waveform two times in a row after the trigger signal.
SYNCO
Sets the TSYNC1 and TSYNC2 times. The first box specifies the TSYNC1 time while the second box specifies the TSYNC2 time. For both boxes, the minimum value is "0" and the maximum value is "FF" (decimal 255). Both parameters are specified in hexidecimal. For more information on the TSYNC times please go to the Synchronization page.
Multi-Module Operation*
* Multi-module operation is an option and not included in the standard DSM.
Auto Armed
When enabled will auto arm the DSM so that after completing the number of loops specified by Loop Done the board will automatically go into the "Armed" state and be ready for the trigger signal. You cannot change this option if the board is in Slave mode.
If disabled, the DSM will go into the "Disarmed" state after completing the loops in which case the user will have to click on the Arm & Ready button to put the board into the "Armed" state. For more information about the internal states please see the Internal States page.
SYNCO
When this is checked and the board is in Master mode, the board will output the SYNCO signal from the SYNCOUT SMA connector on the boards. When in Slave mode, the SYNCO option does not do anything.
The boxes to the right of SYNCO specify the TSYNC1 and TSYNC2 times.
Internal SYNCI
When this is enabled in Master or Standalone mode, the internal SYNCI signal will mirror the SYNCO. You cannot change this option if the board is in Slave mode. For more information please go to the Synchronization page.
