First Powerup Checklist

We have provided a checklist for the first use of the AWG TRX hardware and software. Going through this list will ensure proper operation of the AWG TRX in the future. After completing this list, please refer to the AWG_TRX Manual for software instructions.

1. Clock and Power Connection

Connect your clock to the CKIP SMA on the front of the AWG TRX module or near the upper left corner of the board. Set the frequency and power level of your clock source to typical operating specifications:

The AWG TRX requires one +12V input which is provided by the included 120V-240V AC power adapter (can be plugged into any compatible wall socket). Insert the barrel end of the power supply to the connector marked +12V on the back of the AWG TRX module. Flip the switch on the back of the module to the "ON" position to power up the AWG TRX.

Note: The AWG TRX's front LED should turn orange and the LCD screen should display the product name after the switch has been flipped.

2. Software Installation

After verifying Software Compatibility Requirements. Please download the Setup Files and follow the instructions detailed in the Software Setup section of the manual.

After installation, navigate to the AWG TRX program folder, which by default is "C:\Euvis\AWG_TRX\", and look for a file called "AWGYYY_SGN_0XX.dat" where XX is your AWG TRX series number and YYY is 474. This is the signature file that will allow you to switch clock frequencies without needing to adjust internal AWG TRX hardware settings for proper operation every time. For the AWG474 this signature file will be automatically generated after you launch the TRX_AWG_WIN application. If you do not have this signature file in the Euvis folder, then you will need to contact us.
