Firmware Update -
All new firmware will be accompanied by a new GUI application so that the functions will match. To update your firmware, you will need to update uninstall the previous GUI version and install the newest GUI application. To uninstall the previous version, go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and click on "Remove" for the program called "DSM".
            
        
To install the GUI application again, follow the steps outlined on the Software Setup page of this section.
        
        Normal Firmware Update
        
        
        To update the firmware, please follow the instructions below.
» For normal flashing, power up the DSM board with a jumper on JP3 and click on PHY --> Firmware Update to bring up the Update Firmware dialog box.
        
        
» The dialog box will show you the current version of the firmware on the device and the new firmware that you will flash on to the ROM. Please make sure that the new and old firmware are not the same and that the new firmware is the correct one.
        
        » Simply click on Update Firmware to begin the process. It will take approximately 30 to 60 seconds to complete
        flashing.
        
        
        
        
        » When the firmware finishes, you will get a message in the text box.
        
        
        
        
        » To register the changes to the application, close the application and power down the DSM board. Power up the board and wait for
        the demo waveform to show up. Open the application. To verify that you have successfully updated the firmware, click on PHY --> 
        Firmware Info. It should now show the new firmware information.
        
        
        
        
        Generic Installation Firmware Update
        
        
        If there is a problem, we will recommend to you to do a Generic Installation. Please DO NOT use Generic Installation unless we have told you to do so. To do a Generic Installation, follow the steps below.
» With the DSM off, remove the jumper from JP3 on the board. Power up the device and open up the DSM application.
» Go to PHY --> Firmware Update to bring up the dialog box. Place the jumper back on to JP3.
» Now click on Update Firmware to begin flashing.
» To register the changes to the application, close the application and power down then power up the board. When you open the program again and click on PHY --> Firmware Info. It should now show the changed firmware information.
